Locales
A locale is a code representing a language and country. Locales are used in Studio for two purposes: (1) parsing and formatting dates and times; and (2) number formatting.
Most locales have two parts. The language part of the code (e.g. en for English) comes first, followed by the country part (e.g. US for United States). The two parts are separated by an underscore or a hyphen. Therefore en_US and en-US are equally valid and both denote the same language-country combination.
A small number of locales have three parts. For further information about these, see Locales with three parts.
