About the data-language interface
All NLG systems have a data side and a language side. The data side takes in data and extracts from that the insights we want to communicate. The language side constructs a narrative in language around those insights. Think of the interface between those two sides as the input.
If you perform data processing outside NLG Studio, the project's input is the output of the data-processing stage. If you perform data processing inside your NLG Studio scripts, the input is comprised of the data that feeds your project, plus the analytics you build into your projects.
The narrative is then produced from this input by the system’s language layer, using linguistic processing.
